Prica ide da je neki mladic, vojnik, mnogo voleo prostitutke i zbog venericne bolesti umro u Londonskoj St. James Infirmary jos na pocetku svog zivota. Ovu pesmu su otpevali Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Janis Joplin, Lou Rawls, Duke Ellington, The White Stripes i jos mnogi drugi, a najnovija verzija je od Hugh Laurie (aka Dr. House i pera451). Jos jedna folklorna kojoj ne zna se pisac, a lokacija je u New Orleans, najverojatnije bordel. Otpevali je mnogi ali meni je omiljena verzija od The Animals.
