beast Posted August 14, 2008 Report Share Posted August 14, 2008 Evi i par slika sa koncerta Iron Maiden-a odrzanog 12.08. na Sziget festivalu. Posto je to bio day zero svirali su samo oni a kao predgrupa Lauren Harris. Bina je bila kao i na svim koncertima na njihovoj trenutnoj turneji Somewhere back in time. Svirali su nepuna 2 sata, a od pesama hitove sa sa prvih sedam albuma plus pesmu Fear of the dark. Gosti: Gutter Guitar (Australia) i Gerda Blank (New Zealand) Qui was founded in 2000 by drummer/vocalist Paul Christensen and guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk in Los Angeles, CA. Since debuting in LA in early 2001 and the release of their first full-length CD, "Baby Kisses," (Heart of a Champion) in 2003, they have maintained a prodigious pace of both local performances and national tours. Their idiosyncratic blend of punk, noise, metal and experimental genres, coupled with their advanced musical prowess, earned them a small but dedicated following throughout the U.S. In late 2006, Qui was joined by vocalist David Yow of The Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid fame. Shortly thereafter, the trio released the single, "Today, Gestation" b/w "Freeze" on the Los Angeles-based Infrasonic Sound Recordings label. After a brief spring tour and two acclaimed performances at the South By Southwest music conference in Austin, TX, Qui partnered up with Mike Patton and Greg Werckman's Ipecac Recordings for their full-length entitled "Love's Miracle," which was released on September 11, 2007. Basking away in the sun, he could have whiled away his time exploring the many shades of blues, from country hit whittling to Delta swamp wading. But there was fire in his belly and a flame in his soul, and in his hands the blues were transformed into an assault weapon. Bren "Sausage Paw" Beck was perhaps every mother's nightmare, a boy who seemingly just couldn't sit still. In a world pulsing with rhythm -- from the blood pounding through our veins to the cacophony of traffic in our towns -- Beck had to drum back in response at every turn, on anything and everything available. He is a continuous tattoo, battering out the beats of his own internal drums. Fatefully, one day the two met, and so was born Left Lane Cruiser, an astounding two-man blues band. Lo-fi is a totally inadequate term to describe their sound, a sizzling mix of Beck's pusillanimous drums, claps, percussion, and hoots and hollers and Freddie J's blistering guitar and husky vocals. This is the blues in their purest form, rough and ragged, rubbed raw by too much hard living and too many tough breaks. The blues' African-American progenitors could bare the pain in their souls, but dared not express the anger that underlay it. Cruiser, however, are under no such constraints, and on the trio of songs that close the set the music bristles with barely repressed rage that immediately brings the Stooges to mind. In contrast, the exuberant crash and bash of "Wash It," the dizzy stomp of "KFD," and the gleeful hook of "G Bob" all roil with a grand joie de vivre, with the exhilarating "Set Me Down" the perfect band anthem. Then again, every track on Bring Yo' Ass to the Table ripples with energy and an electric charge of creative frisson. Whether celebrating a plate of "Pork n' Beans," "Big Momma"'s delights, or "G Bob"'s steel guitar playing, the Cruisers rumble through the back streets of life, focusing on the small details, although the scathing "Amerika" does look at the bigger picture. Uslovili su gostovanje u Srbiji ove godine time da prvo dolaze kod nas. Inace moja preporuka. Englesko skotski folk na malo, malo moderniji nacin sa tradicionalnim instrumentima. Ako su vam dojadili svi ti gitara/bubanj bendovi sa muÅ¡karcima, Motorama mogu da budu sasvim dobar izbor. 2 markantne Italijanke postoje već punih 8 godina, objavile su 2 albuma («No Bass Fidelity» i «Psychotronic Is The Beat»), pregrÅ¡t singlova i naÅ¡le su svoje mesto na viÅ¡e garažnih kompilacija Å¡irom sveta. Slove za najpoznatiji italijanski garažni bend već dosta dugo i to im je pomoglo da doÄ‘u i do jedne ameriÄke turneje pre neku godinu, a Evropu su obiÅ¡le u viÅ¡e navrata. «Psychotronic Is The Beat» objavljen je ovog leta za renomiranu punk rock etiketu Dead Beat Records (za istu objavljuju: J Church, Knockout Pills, Haunted George, Mac Blackout…), a njihov vriÅ¡teći i Å¡kripeći zvuk na naÄin Demolition Doll Rods, Red Aunts ili Bikini Kill već je dobio zapažene kritike u nezavisnoj Å¡tampi. Na ovom albumu suviÅ¡e Äesto zvuÄe znatno sirovije i žešće od mnogih muÅ¡kih bendova sliÄnog usmerenja da to jednostavno ne može da bude sluÄajno i, Å¡to je najbitnije, obećava jednako uzbudljive žive nastupe. Da, žene ponekad umeju da, Å¡to AC/DC rekoÅ¡e, pokažu viÅ¡e muda (ili petlje, ako vam je to prihvatljivije) i Motorama su tu sigurno prvakinje Italije, a nesumnjivo i u prvih 5 na planeti Zemlji. Dovoljno je posluÅ¡ati njihovu obradu Gang Of Four hita Damaged Goods, pa da za momenat steknete utisak kako su GO4 bili bend sastavljen od evnuha kad su napisali ovu veliku pesmu pre kojih 30 godina. Dakle, prÅ¡teće, distorzirane gitare i isto tako distorzirani vokal, te nemilosrdno zakivanje bubnjeva recept su kojim ove dve zgodne devojke osvajaju svakog iole ozbiljnog zaljubljenika u nezavisnu rokenrol muziku. Po prvi put se pojavljuju uživo u Srbiji na tri koncerta i to je prava Å¡ansa da se pojavite i pogledate ih uživo. Uostalom, bolje je videti dve seksi ribe kako praÅ¡e u kratkim suknjama, nego 5 ružnih tipova koji se trude da ostave utisak na većinski muÅ¡ku publiku koja se obiÄno pojavljuje na koncertima ovog tipa, zar ne?
