Koliko videh, do sada ovde joÅ¡ nije pominjana Sarah Blasko.

Njen Äetvrti studijski album I awake (kako vidim izdat poÄetkom 2013). OdliÄan!

Njen fenomenalni Portishead-ovski glas uobliÄen u džez, sa simfonijskom podrÅ¡kom, indi/etno, pop i Å¡ta ti ja znam koje već žanrove…

ZvuÄi Äisto, na neki naÄin zrelije, nego dosadaÅ¡nji albumi. Ima po ocu uÄitelju neko Balkansko poreklo, dok joj je majka Australijanka. Tamo je i odrasla... Dovoljno da se obrati pažnja ;-)

Mada sam se ja tek skoro sreo i sa ovim i sa prethodnim albumama ovaj mi je nekako baš dobar! :-)

Produkcija odliÄna, radila u Å vedskoj. Snimak onako kako ja volim – sve na svom mestu, ali bez sterilne detaljnosti, a sa dovoljnom dozom intimnosti.

Mene su naÅ¡li sa pomalo melanholiÄnom atmosferom, nordijskom podrÅ¡kom, glasom Sare koji ima neku mladalaÄku Äistotu (inaÄe je 1976. godiÅ¡te ;-)) a opet sa druge strane zrelu, jasno definisanu izražajnost bez trunke napora u izvoÄ‘enju ili gubljenju u stilovima. TaÄno zna Å¡ta traži i gde se nalazi, itd, itd… i kvalitetnom produkcijom naravno.

Da. Za procesiranje mislio sam na studisko procesiranje, produkcija, mastering. Youtube kompresija manje unistava kvalitet zvuka nego recimo Rick Rubin koji je zauvek unistio Adele - 21.

 

 

Frederick Jay "Rick" Rubin (born March 10, 1963) is an American record producer and former co-president of Columbia Records. Along with Russell Simmons, Rubin is the founder of Def Jam Records and also established American Recordings. His collaboration with Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Public Enemy and Run–D.M.C. helped to popularize hip hop music.

 
Rubin's biggest trademark as a producer has been a "stripped-down" sound, which involves eliminating production elements such as string sections, backup vocals, and reverb, and instead having naked vocals and bare instrumentation.
 
Not all artists who have worked with Rubin have enjoyed his production style. Although he and his band mates had some positive things to say about Rubin, Slipknot's lead singer Corey Taylor said that he only met Rubin four times during the entire recording process of Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and that Rubin barely ever even showed up to the studio: "...we were being charged horrendous amounts of money. And for me, if you're going to produce something, you're EDITED there. I don't care who you are.".[24] He also added: "The Rick Rubin of today is a thin, thin, thin shadow of the Rick Rubin that he was. He is overrated, he is overpaid, and I will never work with him again as long as I EDITED live."
 
Since at least 1999, Rubin has been criticized by listeners for contributing to a phenomenon in music known as the loudness war, in which the dynamic range of recorded music is compressed and sometimes clipped in order to increase the general loudness. Albums produced by Rubin that have been criticized for such treatment include:
 
Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (1999) - Tim Anderson of The Guardian criticized its "excessive compression and distortion", and Stylus Magazine said it suffered from so much digital clipping that "even non-audiophile consumers complained about it".
 
Death Magnetic by Metallica (2008 ). Some fans have preferred the Guitar Hero version of Death Magnetic, even though it was released for gameplay and not listening, because it was not subject to the same compression.
 
13 by Black Sabbath (2013) - Ben Ratliff of The New York Times said "The new Black Sabbath album was produced by Rick Rubin, who some believe to be a prime offender in the recent history of highly compressed and loudly mastered music — a major cause of ear fatigue...13 is mastered loudly, too... Your ears aren't given room to breathe". Jon Hadusek of Consequence of Sound wrote, "Rubin...deserves disparagement for the way he mixed the audio levels, which are crushed by distortion and compression. Otherwise well-recorded songs are blemished, an affliction all too pervasive in the modern music industry".

Shvatio sam za produkciju, nego me interesovao Youtube. Znam da su nesto menjali stalno...

Vidis da je covek osnovao Def (Deaf) Jam Records, nemoj da si na kraj srca :-)

Zato je hip hop popularan i kriminalci su idoli omladine, ideologija = kokain + drolje + zlatni lanac + escalade, a najbolja muzika snima se za slusanje u auto. Najprodavanije slusalice Beats by Dre... sve je u qrc... 

 

Ovaj je bio direktor Columbia Records-a. Placaju mu da producira! Ovaj!

Pre neki dan sam slusao zavrsni koncert svih razreda nize muzicke skole klavirskog odseka (Kraljevacka skola, odeljenje u Vrnjackoj Banji – Stevan Mokranjac).

Odusevila me deca, narocito oni od 4. do 6. razreda! Deca sviraju za medalju! :facehearts

Kaiseru, jbg, ja ne vidim bas nista cudno na ovom coveku zbog cega bih pomislio da nije dobar producent. Ipak, valjalo bi malo progooglati o njemu. Ne bih rekao da je bas diletant :order

 

Najgori producent, totalni diletant i od one dlake verujem da nista ne cuje. Procitaj njegovu wiki stranicu, najgora 3 loudness albuma u istoriji su njegovo majstorsko delo. Ako zelis perfekciju, minimalizam i muzicki genij imas Manfred Eicher.

Ja sam shvatio da je taj minimalisticki koncept u najvecem delu Rubinova ideja?

Nista sto je Cash ranije radio, a prilicno je stilski lutao, ne lici na ovu seriju albuma.

Da nije bilo Rubinove inicijative i davanja nove sanse Johnny-ju kome od 80-ih karijera nije isla bas najbolje, definitivno ne bi bilo ni ovih albuma.

Za to mu hvala, a za ostalo sta je tu je. :)

 

Sto se tice loudness war kompresije "en general", ko sve moze biti krivac?

Producent ili mastering inzenjer na kraju lanca?

Svi pominju Death Magnetic od Metallice kao uzasan primer, kao i to da je audio rip iz Guitar Hero igre slusljiviji zbog nedostatka te kompresije koju imamo na CD-u.

OK, ako je Guitar Hero verzija Death Magnetic-a u redu, a CD je kompresovan do bola,

 ...ko je kriv producent ili mastering inzinjer koga pritiska diskografska kuca da isporuci kompresovan proizvod za slusanje u kolima i preko bubica mobilnog telefona?

Nedavno je bilo i price oko prituzbe Stevena Wilsona koji se zalio da mu je diskografska kuca tokom masteringa pokvarila Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick reizdanje...

Apparently it's worse than just the 3 glitches -- the mastering was flawed as well -- apparently the multichannel mix was "remastered" after Steve Wilson did his thing, which resulted in some brickwalling. The "fixed" version removes this "remaster" and brickwalling effect.

 

 

Ne kazem da je Rick Rubin apsolutni svetac.

 

Ipak, kako bi smo stvarno mogli da dajemo sud o necijem radu, 

treba dobar deo preslusati (a tu ima 30 godina rada) a ne samo navoditi primer tri albuma pomenuta u Wikipediji.

 

Ja prvi gomilu njegovih produkcija nisam slusao, pa se zbog toga uzdrzavam od definitivnih komentara.

Kuja, ljubavi sta da ti kazem. Nisam ni radio u Rubinov studio, ni sam u muzickom biznisu i sl. Ja sam obican ljubitelj muzike koji cita wikipediju i slusa muziku, to je moj izvor. Slusao sam i Adele - 21 bez loudness izdanje i opet je album produkciski bezveze. Slusao sam i gomilu drugih albuma koje je producirao. 

 

Da zavrsimo off.  ;-)
